The conference hotel is sold out on Wednesday, June 29. We ask that all attendees still book their initial nights at the Rosen Plaza to help ALP reach our required hotel room night agreement. The Rosen Plaza has set up a waitlist and overflow arrangement for our attendees. Click the link below to book your stay at the Rosen Plaza through June 29 and to receive the number to call to be put on the waitlist for the night of Wednesday, June 29, and to hold a room at their sister property just 6 minutes from the Rosen Plaza.

Annetta Wilson solves problems for experts who are frustrated by business, recognition and relationships slipping through their fingers because of confusing, convoluted, and complicated communication. An award-wining broadcast journalist, she is a Certified Mastery Coach and Certified Trainer specializing in media training, presentation skills, networking, and the ‘Elevator’ Speech. She is the creator of, ‘You’ve Got Less than 15 Seconds. Impress Me! Elevator Speech system, and the author of the upcoming book, ‘The Less You Say, the More You Talk’ (Tips to Communicate for Influence and Power). She has worked with AAA, CNN, Goldman Sachs, Walt Disney World, Delta Dental, and the City of Orlando, among others.

Dr. Joy is a Success Maximizer, Motivational Teacher, and CEO of Success Uncensored Coaching, offering a safe space for leaders, athletes, and women influencers to maximize their greatest potential, perform at their optimal level, and unlock success now! She is the CEO of Success Uncensored Coaching as well as a transformational speaker, wife, and mother, who channels her infectious energy and drive for life into inspiring others to be intentional about cultivating strategic goals and increasing your emotional intelligence, cultural competency skills, and mental health awareness. She uses her diverse counseling skill set and leadership skills as a speaker and panelist for national conferences with the YWCA, Regions Bank, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and Lockheed Martin among others.

Kennedy Space Center Tour:
For those arriving to Orlando on Sunday, June 26 or early in the morning on June 27, a pre-conference excursion to the Kennedy Space Center is taking place Monday, June 27. Kennedy Space Center is the ultimate destination for anyone fascinated by space exploration and NASA’s rich and exciting history. Located on Merritt Island, just under an hour’s drive east of Orlando, this vast space center celebrates NASA’s considerable achievements, offering guests as much insight and amazement as possible. The cost is $100/person and includes transportation to/from the Kennedy Space Center from the Rosen Plaza. The tour will depart promptly at 9:00 AM and return to the Rosen Plaza around 3:15 PM.

Certified Community Leadership Practitioner (CCLP):
The Association of Leadership Programs (ALP) oversees the certification process to obtain the CCLP designation. Training includes a series of learning components covering personal, practical and theoretical leadership. The CORE training course will be offered June 26 -27 prior to the start of the conference. The cost is $600/Members, $1000/Non-Members.

Community Building Focused Workshops
Building Leadership Among Seniors: Retirees can enrich your community‘s volunteer talent pool

- What if you had one program that could develop senior leaders as talent fuel for nonprofits during the fierce competition for talent, address social isolation and loss of identity, allow seniors to regain their sense of purpose, meaning and relevance, and impact your community‘s quality of life . . . all at the same time? Give 5 is a first-of-its-kind, full-immersion civic engagement program that teaches retired (and retiring) Baby Boomers about their community, then shows them "behind the curtain" at various nonprofits. With 10,000 Baby Boomers turning 65 and retiring every day for 19 years, the program seeks to address the growing problem of isolation by allowing participants to do a "taste testing" of volunteer opportunities in a fun and interesting way.
Community Leadership Programs Leading Mass Action Projects

- Kansas CLPs played a key role in launching a state-wide initiative in November 2020 known as Kansas Beats the Virus. Kansas Leadership Center partnered with the Kansas Department of Health to mobilize an alumni network and key partners to design and launch locally-led action projects to make progress on this large scale leadership challenge. In this case, it was connected to the pandemic. In subsequent research about this mass action effort, KLC discovered key findings about locally led projects impacting progress on a community's most daunting challenges - like poverty, homelessness, economic development, public discourse, and civic engagement. This workshop will showcase essential components and strategies that participants can explore and leverage in their organizations and communities.

- Are you interested in embedding racial equity and antiracism into your organization and programming? Dr. Rebeca Rivera will share how Leadership Tomorrow has adopted antiracist approaches throughout the flagship program, alumni programming, and organization. Participants will learn about the work of the board and staff in learning and adopting an antiracist framework, the iterative process of adapting to feedback while creating institutional and programmatic changes, how antiracist and racial equity work show up in alumni committees and programing, as well as future goals. 50 Shades of Purple: The complexity of (Gender) Identity

- Get to know you games are the foundation of all our leadership programsbut how well do we get to know our class members? Or should I say how comfortable are our class members in sharing about ALL of themselves? Identity is a very complex issue. Aspects of race and culture have become somewhat common in our group matrix, but deeper issues of gender identity and sexual orientation are not so easy to define, identify, share, or integrate. In this workshop we will explore first the complexity of gender and sexual identity – it’s MUCH more complicated than you think – and then engage in dialogue about why identity as a WHOLE matters. From youth programs to adult programs and adults working with youth, this is a topic that is critical to our success not just in our leadership development, but also in the health of our communities.
