ALP Unleashed: Hope, Trust, and Inclusion

July 12 - 14, 2021

The 2021 Virtual National Conference featured keynote speakers, Garry Clark, Unlikely Viking and Frances Frei, Unleashed. Additionally, there was 24 workshops led by peer experts and professional guests, open space topic discussions and peer connections. There are great advantages to this virtual platform including zero travel costs and the ability to replay recorded versions of the workshop content.

Keynote Speakers

Garry ClarkGarry Clark

Garry Clark has been in the economic development field for over 12 years. In early 2019, Clark published his memoir, Unlikely Viking – From the D.C. Projects to Rural Nebraska. He currently works as the Executive Director at the Greater Fremont Development Council (GFDC), in Fremont, Nebraska. Clark joined the Greater Fremont Development Council in September 2017. Prior to his GFDC role, He worked as the NIFA Opportunity Fund Manager out of the Omaha and Lincoln, NE offices and before that served as Cuming County Economic Development Director and Zoning Administrator for 5 years in Northeast Nebraska.

Frances Frei

Frances is the co-author of Unleashed: The Unapologetic Leader's Guide to Empowering Everyone Around You. She is a professor at Harvard Business School. She recently served as Uber’s first Senior Vice President of Leadership and Strategy to help the company navigate its very public crisis in leadership and culture. Frances regularly works with companies embarking on large-scale change and organizational transformation, including embracing inclusion and diversity as a lever for improved performance. Her TED Talk on the topic of building trust has logged over 4 million views.
